1. Introduction

The aim of this topic is to

  • share data, information and digital content with others through appropriate digital communication technologies.
  • adapt behavioural norms and netiquette of the employer while using digital technologies and interacting in digital environments.
  • understand how to build and lead an effective virtual team


Content of this topic:

  • Theory of media synchronicity MST. Choice of media (+cultures and English as lingua franca).
  • Company netiquette, ethical aspects (professional/ personal identity in social media, work time/free time)
  • Conflict/diversity management, importance of trust

2. Activities

All activities are reflected in the individual learning diary! 

 

Before checkpoint 1: 

  • Reflect the choice of media you made in your team based on the Theory of  media synchronicity MST and your experiences during your team work..

Before checkpoint 2

  • Discuss in your diary: Have you had any conflicts in your team during this course? Describe how did you solve them? Is there something important to be added into the Conflict management test of the virtual aspects?
  • Read an article on trust, reflect the importance of trust in your team work during this course.

  • Find the company netiquette of your own organisation (or other), discuss the importance of netiquette and ethical aspects. 
  • Discuss all the above aspects from the points of view of:
    1. personal /professional identity,
    2. organizational culture,
    3. work time/free time in virtual team work.
